Come hear from two Vanderbilt Ph.D.&#8217;s about transitioning from academia to data science, as well as John Wark, Founder and President of the Nashville Software School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead rtecenter\">Monday, September 25<br \/>\n10:30-11:30am<br \/>\n512 Light Hall<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead rtecenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/after-academia-data-science-as-a-career-tickets-37985869759\"><strong>Register here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Taylor Murphy<\/strong> has a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and is the Director of Data Operations at Concert Genetics.\u00a0He has over 5 years of experience in scientific and biomedical research and is focused on revealing valuable insights from data for both Concert Genetics and the greater genetics community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shruti Sharma<\/strong> has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt and also completed\u00a0several years of post-doctoral research at Vanderbilt.\u00a0 She is now a software engineer with Ingram Content Group. She attended Nashville Software School&#8217;s web development bootcamp and will be attending the Data Science Bootcamp.
