The Council of Class Officers (CCO) is a group comprised of class officers from all four years of medical school. These positions include:
President (1), Vice President (1), Secretary/Treasurer (1), and Social Chairs (3).
The group works together throughout the year to improve daily medical school life, address pressing student and faculty concerns, and strengthen school infrastructure. We meet on a monthly basis with all School of Medicine Deans to discuss pertinent issues concerning our school, from both the administrative and student perspectives. Recent projects of the CCO include:
- Revising the Honor Code to include Honor Council representatives from all School of Medicine programs, such as Audiology and more (Spring 2015)
- Creating the Super Social Chair Committee to plan and host all-school events to help maintain Vanderbilt’s unique culture of unity, inclusion, and wellness (Spring 2015)
Hosting the inaugural "Student Organization Pitch Night” for student leaders to showcase their efforts and recruit new membership (Fall 2016)
Restarting the Meharry-Vanderbilt Student Alliance (Fall 2016)
The CCO group is continually looking for ways to improve our medical school and broaden are influence on the student body. Please contact our Executive President, Sir Norman Melancon with any comments, criticisms, and suggestions.
