GFP and Osamu

Osamu Shimomura was a Japanese scientist credited with discovering GFP which started a revolution in fluorescent imaging. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2008.

Previously, CDB had no equipment capable of imaging GFP by western blot. The LAS4000 CCD Imager is an ultrasensitive instrument which can now detect your GFP fusion or antibody tagged proteins.
