2017 Eclipse

Nashville was the place to be on August 21, 2017 when a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event occurred — the first total solar eclipse to sweep across the entire United States in 99 years! As the largest U.S. city in the eclipse’s path, Vanderbilt faculty, staff, and students witnessed day turn to night as the moon completely blocked the sun from the sky for about 2 minutes.
