McGavock Chair, professor of cell and developmental biology, and associate dean for biomedical sciences, received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/faculty-affairs\/faculty-development\/faculty-awards\/earl-sutherland-prize-for-achievement-in-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earl Sutherland Prize for Achievement in Research<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gould\u2019s research focuses on the division of cells, the fundamental unit of all living things. She is one of the world\u2019s foremost scientists working on the last step in cell division\u2014the separation of cells.
