Nidhi Jalan-Sakrikar
Nidhi is from India by way of North Dakota. She found that alpha-actinin can facilitate CaMKII interactions with NMDA-receptors and promote their phosphorylation, but inhibits the phosphorylation of AMPA-receptors. She also examined the effects of densin on CaMKII activity. She was supported by a predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association and defended her Ph.D. dissertation in 2011. After a postdoc in the Conn Lab at Vanderbilt, she moved to become a Research Fellow at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN.
