Charles was born and raised in New York, NY. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Biology and received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency training at the Stanford/Kaiser Emergency Medicine Residency Program, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine Simulation at Stanford. Charles currently serves as the Simulation Fellowship Director and Assistant Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine. His academic interests include simulation, resident and medical student education, curriculum development, and quality improvement. Charles enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing Ultimate. His wife Vivian is also an emergency physician.
