• James M. Dewar, Ph.D.

    Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry

    Dr. Dewar carried out his undergraduate studies at the University of Bath, England, and graduated in 2007 with First Class Honours in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He received his Ph. D in 2011 in yeast genetics from Newcastle University, England, before undertaking post-doctoral training in Johannes Walter’s lab at Harvard Medical School, where he became a Charles A. King Trust Fellow. In 2016, Dr. Dewar joined the Vanderbilt Faculty as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry.

    Research Assistant, Department of Biochemistry

    Darren carried out his undergraduate studies at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN, and graduated in 2017 with summa cum laude honors in biology. He interned at the University of Georgia in 2016 under Dr. Eric V. Stabb in microbiology and was hired as a research assistant in the Dewar lab at Vanderbilt University in May 2017.
