Darren carried out his undergraduate studies at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN, and graduated in 2017 with summa cum laude honors in biology. He interned at the University of Georgia in 2016 under Dr. Eric V. Stabb in microbiology and was hired as a research assistant in the Dewar lab at Vanderbilt University in May 2017.
