We regret to inform you that the Vanderbilt University Editors’ Club is on hiatus indefinitely. At this time, we are not able to receive documents for editing services.
If you are interested in participating in the club and/or helping to re-establish it as a service, please email Ashley Brady at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We, the Vanderbilt Editors’ Club, are a group of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students who volunteer to provide editorial services for our peers. We review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide sets for language usage, organization, and clarity. There is no charge for this service. To learn more, please read our Mission Statement.
Faculty, postdoc, and grad student authors submit documents for review via our online submission system.
The Editor-in-Chief receives notification of submissions, confirms that the documents are advanced drafts, and assigns documents to an editor for review.
The assigned editor provides the author with comments as soon as possible. Typical turnaround time is one week, depending on the length of the document. An editor may provide his or her comments electronically or via hard copy during a face-to-face meeting with the author.
“A journal article should present a careful and relatively complete account of your research…Learning to write articles that people will read and remember will make you a more effective scientist. It will also enhance your chances for survival as a researcher.”
