Simone Herzberg, G4

Biography
Before coming to Nashville, I completed my undergraduate training at Seattle Pacific University where I got a BS in Physiology while competing as a coxswain on the rowing team and an outside mid for my school’s soccer team. My passion for sports served as the catalyst for my career as a physician scientist as I started my research career looking into the effects of menstrual cycle hormones and oral contraceptives on the incidence of Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury and Laxity in women.

Why Vanderbilt?
My interests in both injury prevention research as well as the clinical treatment of injury led me to Vanderbilt, where I joined the MD/PhD program in 2018. I am excited to pursue my graduate training in the epidemiology department looking into clinical outcomes and exercise physiology.
