My laboratory studies the role of the Ca2+ dependent membrane binding Annexin A6,  as well as the role of the calcium sensing receptor and cancer-induced hypercalcemia in triple negative breast cancer progression and chemo-resistance. Our interest in EV Research is based on our previous studies and recent findings that the calcium-dependent membrane binding Annexin A6 is enriched in extracellular vesicles and that Annexin A6 containing EVs promote cancer metastasis and drug resistance. We are therefore, interested in understanding in greater detail, the role of Annexin A6 containing EVs in TNBC progression and chemo-resistance.
