Research Description

The goal of my research is to explore the novel relationship between complement factor 5 of the innate immune system and metabolic signaling, particularly as it pertains to insulin sensitivity. Complement proteins are historically appreciated for their pro-inflammatory effects, but there are indications that they can also beneficially impact insulin signaling and systemic metabolism.
