I am studying the effects of mosquito age and temperature of the environment on the mosquito’s ability to fight infection. By studying the mosquito’s immune response to infection, we gain an understanding as to how the mosquito is able to act as a disease vector. My project looks to assess how age and temperature affect the mosquito’s ability to combat infection by decoupling the chronological and physiological age of the mosquitoes.
