Danielle Gutierrez, Ph.D.

Danielle is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and the Mass Spectrometry Research Center. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and completed postdoctoral research at MUSC as well as the National Eye Institute and Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. In addition, she served as an editor on the Fellows’ Editorial Board at the National Institutes of Health and was a freelance science writer for the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Danielle’s research involves proteomics, imaging mass spectrometry, and multiomic data analysis. Specifically, she is interested in the development of multiomic technology platforms and workflows that provide efficient and comprehensive analysis of complex samples and large-scale datasets. In addition to her research, Danielle contributes to the management of the National Research Resource for Imaging Mass Spectrometry and the BIOmolecular Multimodal Imaging Center within the Mass Spectrometry Research Center.
