Technology Research and Development

Technology Research and Development (TRD) projects in Imaging Mass Spectrometry (IMS) are expanding the capabilities of IMS and facilitating new application areas. Current projects include: the development of a central platform through which collaborators can direct imaging efforts (exchange images, annotations, disease classifications, etc.) and that automates image registration of serial sections; the development of new instrumentation through modification of commercial instruments to increase spatial resolution and tandem MS imaging capabilities; the improvement of sample preparation techniques for different classes of analytes; the analysis of discrete cell populations.
