After graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Biology, I began a technical career in basic research in the Biochemistry Department with Dr. Stanley Cohen. During the following twelve years, Dr. Cohen not only taught me about epidermal growth factor/receptor biochemistry but also infected me with his love of scientific discovery.
Due to the fortunate timing of research opportunities, I next worked four years for Dr. Leon Cunningham and six years for Dr. Peter Gettins on alpha 2- macroglobulin and antithrombin III projects, respectively. Since 1994, I have been blessed to be a member of the Marnett group and to be involved in COX-1/COX-2 investigations. As a Senior Research Specialist, I am currently interested in the calcium signaling role of the glyceryl ester of prostaglandin E 2. I also enjoy reading, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
