Well, hello! My name’s Mike, and I’m so excited for scientific and medical inquiry here at Vanderbilt. Though I studied history as an undergraduate, I got involved with biomedical research at Dartmouth and fell in love with the field. I’m passionate about exploring the exceptional opportunities in clinical medicine and scientific problems through built-in research. When I chose to come to VUSM after several years away from school, I knew I would enjoy the dedicated research time in our accelerated curriculum. I also knew I was making the right choice when all the students, faculty, and staff I met on my interview day made me feel right at home (though far from home). They seemed to genuinely enjoy working and learning with each other, and I can attest to that collaboration now that I’m a student! Coming from the Northeast, I have enjoyed getting involved in Wilderness Medicine. I’ve also been involved at Shade Tree Clinic (free student-run clinic) and the Wond’ry, Vanderbilt’s Center for Innovation and Design!

Fun fact about me: If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, I’d have to choose Tortellini! (And not the Squidward variety)!
