Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning (VPIL)

Applications for the Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning (VPIL) are being accepted until May 20, 2016.

This innovative program selects incoming students (10-12 from each profession) from the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, Mid-Tennessee Collaborative Master of Social Work Program, University of Tennessee College of Social Work and Vanderbilt University Schools of Medicine and Nursing. Students spend one half-day a week in either clinics or classroom settings, working in interprofessional teams. If selected, your VPIL clinic will serve as your Continuity Clinical Experience (CCX1) credit. After successful completion of VPIL1 and 2, students will be eligible to waive certain Immersion phase requirements — specifically those around interprofessional learning.

To be considered, please compose a 500-word essay answering the question:

How would working and learning as part of an interprofessional team of students help you meet your educational and professional goals?

Please email your essay to vpil@vanderbilt.edu no later than 5pm on May 20, 2016. We will notify applicants of acceptance status by mid-May. Accepted students are required to attend VPIL Immersion, July 10-14, 2016.

More information is available online at https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/vpil/ and in the attached letter from the course directors.
