{"id":4384,"date":"2025-10-15T18:58:30","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T18:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medschool.vanderbilt.edu\/md-gateway\/?page_id=4384"},"modified":"2026-07-14T14:05:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T14:05:36","slug":"student-computing-systems-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/medschool.vanderbilt.edu\/md-gateway\/student-computing-systems-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Computing Systems Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of the 2024-2025 academic year, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) will begin issuing a VUMC-managed laptop to each Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) student\u00a0<em>in the MD program\u00a0<\/em>or<em>\u00a0Masters of Genetic Counseling.<\/em>\u00a0These laptops will allow you to access the VUMC network and VUMC-managed applications, including the electronic health record, eStar, without using your personal devices.<\/p>\n<p>Managed devices are one part of VUMC\u2019s response to ongoing cybersecurity threats to healthcare organizations across the US and the region. VUMC\u2019s Enterprise Technical Support vendor, CTG, will provide first line technical support for technical issues with laptops.
