What does the fellowship funding cover?
As a Med Scholar, you’ll receive
- a $30,000 stipend (amount subject to change)
- health insurance, disability, and personal liability coverage
- a $1,500 conference allowance to present your research
When can I start?
The Medical Scholar’s fellowship sponsors full-time research for 12 continuous months, typically beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30.
How can I apply?
You need to be a currently enrolled MD student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine or Meharry Medical College and in good standing. No previous research experience is required. The Medical Scholars Program is not intended for MD/PhD students or for those who already have a PhD. There are no citizenship requirements, and international students are welcome to apply.
