The Medical Innovators Development Program (MIDP) recently welcomed its second cohort of students to the program.
The four students – Eamon Doyle, Nicky Grimes, Joyce Huang and Adrian Sanchez – join the first-year Vanderbilt University School of Medicine class expected to graduate in 2021.
“We have an impressive group of students joining us this year, and look forward to working with them as they advanced towards earning their M.D. degrees,” said MIDP Associate Director and Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences Victoria Morgan, Ph.D.
Like the second-year MIDP students, each of the first-year students has earned their Ph.D. degree in a field that will benefit their training at Vanderbilt and in the MIDP. Having received their degrees at institutions across the United States and abroad, the students bring with them diverse backgrounds and expertise in engineering, epidemiology and medical physics.
“The MIDP curriculum, combined with their expertise, will allow them to develop new, innovative solutions to medical technology and beyond,” added Dr. Morgan. "I'm excited to see what they accomplish during their time with us and as our program continues to grow."
