Vanderbilt provides a variety of resources to assist clinical and translational researchers. The following list outlines some of the resources used by MSCI trainees:

Funding Assistance

Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH)

Assists junior faculty members engaging in clinical research in any area relevant to women’s health with an emphasis on sex and gender factors.

 

Vanderbilt Clinical Oncology Career Research Development Program (VCORCDP)

Provides support to residents, fellows and junior faculty in the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Surgical Oncology and the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Edge for Scholars

A portal of resources for early-career faculty and fellowship level scholars who are committed to a career in clinical investigation.

 

Office of Research

List of shared resources/research core facilities, from those serving small groups of investigators to those supporting all VUMC researchers.

 

Office of Research Support Services

Consultants provide guidance in study organization, IRB navigation, training, protocol development, preparation of study-related documents, funding and contractual agreements, and overall program advisory. The office sponsors periodic workshops.

Weekly workshops offer basic instruction and practical advice on commonly encountered clinical research topics.

 

Department of Biostatistics Clinics

The Department of Biostatistics offers assistance with experimental design, study design, data analysis, data display, statistical computing, and interpretation of results.

 

Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Office of Faculty Affairs

The Office of Faculty Affairs oversees and promotes data-driven initiatives to improve faculty recruitment, development, promotion and retention. The Office administers many faculty funding initiatives derived from the Academic Strategic Plan, including Chancellor Faculty Fellows and Trans-Institutional Programs (TIPs).

 

Women on Track

The overall mission of “Women on Track” is three-fold:

  • To promote the retention and advancement of tenure track women faculty in medical science.
  • To provide mentorship, support, and career education for junior faculty women.
  • To construct a framework from which to attract and retain talented women from the house staff and post-doctoral levels of our organization.

 

StarBRITE

Interactive system provides tools to identify resources, find experts, access templates for research preparation and study conduct, obtain database development software, learn about educational requirements and opportunities, and receive help with research application and approval processes.

Survey Research Shared Resource

Provides services to Vanderbilt investigators related to development and implementation of mail, telephone, web and mixed mode surveys.

 

Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR)

The Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR) offers a variety of resources to investigators and research teams. VICTR is supported by personnel from VICTR administration who are available to assist you with your VICTR applications, answer questions about VICTR resources available to you, and guide you through the StarBRITE website.

Doris Duke

PARTNERS knows that life happens. Doris Duke Partners support early career faculty who are facing care giving challenges so that career momentum can be maintained or restored when the going gets rough.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program of Work/Life Connections-EAP is available to VUMC faculty and staff including full-time, part-time, and TempForce employees and their spouses.
