Faizan Zubair

Faizan is a PhD student in the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Vanderbilt University. He joined the Mass Spectrometry Research Center in 2012. He specializes in surface functionalization and microfabrication approaches to develop new tools for Imaging Mass Spectrometry. In particular, he is using lithography tools to pattern organic materials on gold surfaces to quantify spatial resolution in MALDI imaging. He is also developing self-assembled surfaces to increase throughput in sample preparation. Outside of research, Faizan enjoys playing tennis, backpacking, and canoeing.
