Peggi Angel, Ph.D.

Department of Biochemistry

Peggi worked for three years developing formulations and HPLC separations strategies for pharmaceuticals before attending graduate school. She received her Ph.D in Chemistry from the University of Georgia studying separations of complex protein populations and approaches to quantitative proteomics.  She spent a year at Emory University investigating fetal alcohol spectrum disorder modeled in human embryonic stem cells by membrane proteomic strategies. She currently investigates the developing aortic valve structure by MALDI imaging mass spectrometry and multidimensional chromatography based proteomic strategies in order to better engineer a pediatric aortic valve.
