Although Stephanie Dudzinski (G2) and Sumeeth Jonathan (G2) did not know each other before coming to Nashville, they started dating just 3 weeks after matriculating in Vanderbilt's MSTP.  On September 17, 2016, after three years of being together, Sumeeth proposed to Stephanie in Nashville's Centennial Park, a cherished location in their relationship.  She said yes!  They are thrilled to begin this next chapter in their lives.

Congratulations to Petria Thompson (G1) for receiving the Levi Watkins, Jr. Award. The Levi Watkins, Jr. Student Award is given to a student associated with Vanderbilt University School of Medicine who has made outstanding contributions to the institution by fostering a more diverse environment that is enriching, encouraging and embracing of all VUSM students, faculty and administration.

Rachel Brown (M2) recently adopted 5 month old Spike from Music City Animal Rescue.  Spike's favorite hobbies are watching people shower, hunting his older sister (who is a guinea pig), and sleeping on Rachel's head to wake her up for food.

Andrew Hale (M2) and Halley got married this past September in Franklin, TN. They couldn't be happier to start their life together here in Nashville!

Do you have an event you would like to share for MSTP Celebrations? Whether your life event is big or small, we want to help you celebrate! Please send a photo and caption to mdphd@vanderbilt.edu with the subject "MSTP Celebrations." Examples of celebrations could include having a baby, adopting a pet, buying a house, winning an award, traveling to a conference or on a fun vacation, getting engaged or married OR anything that is special and important to you. Since this is a new feature, you may also include events that have happened in the past.
