You are invited to visit this Theravada temple, a short 15 minute drive from campus, which offers a great dharma talk and vipassana meditation session led by a monk in English on Sundays 9am-10:30am and repeated Wednesday evenings 7:30-9pm, with additional activities in Burmese at other times.

This temple is a block from Vanderbilt One Hundred Oaks and has regular events many days of the week, with a variety of offerings; meditation practices, dharma talks and study groups - a little something for everyone. Sunday 11am-noon is the introductory talks; all activities are in English and all are welcome. The activities are well-attended and attract a diverse crowd. Padma Gochen Ling is their retreat center an hour and half outside of Nashville.

Music of the Heart Sangha

Affiliated with the international mindfulness community led by renowned Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, this pleasant group meets
 in a beautiful setting near Green Hills (about 15 minutes from campus) every Sunday 9:30-11am for mindfulness practices. Join their google-group for details. They also host semi-annual retreats in Nashville led by visiting monks and nuns from Magnolia Grove Monastery (in Mississippi).

The largest temple in Florida, this Chinese-style building encompasses three stories and has a bookstore, meditation hall, Grand Hall, cafeteria, and more. In addition to separate Chinese and English services on Sundays, they offer classes on Buddhism as well as cultural events such as tai chi and yoga. It is part of the Fo Guang Shan / International Buddhist Progress Society.
