The Tennessee Titans (www.titansonline.com) play at L.P. Field, located across the Cumberland River from downtown. They were 9-7 in 2012, and fans are eager for a new season. You can spot local Titans fans all over town by the excessive decals and flags adorning their SUV’s.
The Nashville Predators (www.nashvillepredators.com) are our NHL Hockey franchise and play at the Sommet Center, located on the corner of Broadway and 5th Avenue. Tickets are pretty easy to get and are relatively inexpensive if you don’t mind sitting in the nosebleed section. You can get group discounts by going to the ticket office and buying a block of seats. Also be on the look out for frequent Medical Center Communications e-mails offering special discount tickets to staff and students.
The Nashville Sounds (www.nashvillesounds.com) are the AAA baseball affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. You can easily get cheap general admission tickets at the gate. Greer Stadium (on Chestnut Street off of 8th Ave. South) rarely fills, so you can normally walk down and sit behind home plate. Popular nights to go are Throwback Thursdays when you can get drafts and food for $2 until the end of the sixth inning. Tickets are usually $12 or you can choose to rent out picnic space with all you can eat buffets.
The Nashville Storm (http://www.nashvillestormonline.com) is a semi-professional/minor league outdoor football team. They are entering their 11th season of play and their 1st season of play in the National Football Association (after playing their first 10 years in the NAFL and PSFL). The Nashville Storm has compiled an aggregate 124-20 record in its’ first 10 years of play; the Storm has won the NAFL Southern Conference Championship in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2010.
