The easiest thing to do is to go to Zerfoss Student Health center and get a referral to the Vanderbilt Eye Clinic (Lori Kehler [(615) 936-1476] comes highly recommended). Another option is to have the student health service refer you to an off-campus ophthalmologist. Since your student insurance does not cover any optical check-ups, it really doesn’t matter whether you stay on campus or not (but remember to mention that you are a Vandy medical student, and they may cut you some slack!). If you do need glasses or contacts, the cheapest bet is to buy outside of the optician’s office.
