PCC Research: BITS study

BITS (Biofeedback & Individual Therapy Study)
Principal investigators: Adriana Kipper-Smith and Bunmi Olatunji

Biofeedback (BF) is a training technique in which people are taught to improve their health and performance by using signals from their own bodies to control physiologic response to stress (academic challenges, sports, social settings, test taking).

Our study compares the outcome of different treatment modalities: (1) Biofeedback, (2) Individual Therapy, and (3) Combination treatments.

Our participants are students who struggle with mood and anxiety symptoms.

Our main objective is to examine if students that receive a combination of individual therapy and biofeedback report less psychological distress than those that receive either treatment alone.
