2014 Symposium

2014 VUMC Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium

The eighth Annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium, sponsored by the BRET Office - Postdoctoral Association, the Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association, and the Office of Research, was Tuesday, April 22, 2014. 

This day-long event included short talks from postdoctoral researchers and shared resource directors, a scientific poster competition and judging, and a keynote address by Dr. Pamela J. Hines, a senior editor at Science, the international weekly journal published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The title of Dr. Hines’ presentation was “Behind the scenes at Science”

Prizes were awarded for Postdoc of the Year (sponsored by the VMAA), Mentor of the Year, and best poster in multiple categories. 

The Office of Research awarded additional prizes for best use of Shared Resources and core facilities. We awarded two Distinguished Postdoctoral Oral Presentation Awards.
