White Coat Ceremony
July 25, 2014
Hundreds of family members, friends and future colleagues gather in late July/early August to honor the new Vanderbilt University School of Medicine class during the School's annual Convocation and White Coat Ceremony.
The traditional donning of the signature white garment marks the official entrance into medical school for the members of VUSM's new class. The ceremony comes at the end of the introductory course, Foundations of the Profession, which gives students an understanding of the values and principles that guide a physician's relationship with society and patients.
Vanderbilt School of Medicine students are able to purchase additional white coats throughout their time at VUSM.
Access the white coat order form. Please note, white coats are ordered on the 15th and 30th of every month.
