This is a two-part structural biology research project that examines a class of secondary active transporters by integrating electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy with computational modelling. The transporters of interest are structurally very similar, but appear to be evolutionarily unrelated. The goal is to examine and model the dynamics of some of these proteins and determine if proteins with this fold share the same energy landscape.
