What if I have an urgent health problem after regular clinic hours?

Emergency consultation services (615-322-2427) are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from on-call professionals.

The Student Health Center does not have an infirmary. Patients requiring observation after hours because they are too ill to return to the residence halls will be observed and/or treated at the Vanderbilt Emergency Department.

If your health problem is not life-threatening,  you have consulted our after hours line, and you prefer going to a urgent care/walk-in clinic for immediate assistance, please visit our Community Resources for urgent care/walk in clinic locations and phone numbers.

Vanderbilt University has also contracted with Academic Live Care to provide students access to 24/7 telemedicine services (not affiliated with Student Health or the Medical Center).  Academic Live Care provides care for physical and mental health concerns after-hours when local Urgent Care clinics, Student Health, and the University Counseling Center are closed.  There are no charges for these services.  Please read more about how to access Academic Live Care here.
