In June, fourth-year medical student Roger Fan presented his research in Glasgow, Scotland, at the 10th International Symposium on Peumococci and Pneumococcal Diseases. He presented on the research conducted during his research immersion, which explored the relationship between nasopharyngeal pneumococcal densities and acute respiratory illnesses in children.

His presentation was based on research he conducted during his research immersion in the third year of medical school exploring the relationship between nasopharyngeal pneumococcal densities and acute respiratory illnesses in young children. His oral poster won the poster award for the entire conference, although the North American team lost at tug of war. Congratulations Roger, for such an amazing accomplishment!
