The Office of Medical Student Research hosted an evening event on April 25, 2013 for the viewing of the final projects produced by first year medical students in the new research program offered in the School of Medicine. Students created short video documentaries to capture a view of the careers of physician-researchers.

2013 Emphasis Program Poster Presentations

A poster session featuring the research of second-year medical students was held Friday, April 26, 2013. For a complete listing of all student abstracts, visit the 2013 Emphasis Forum Program. While this was the final Emphasis poster session, student research will continue under the direction of the Office of Medical Student Research.

Medical Student Research Recognized

Three Vanderbilt Medical Students were selected as winners of the poster and oral presentation awards at the recent 2013 Research Forum hosted by the Office of Graduate Medical Education. Congratulations to: 

Pooyan Rohani, ME (class of 2015) for the poster titled: The Impact of Electrode Insertion in Minimally –Invasive, Image-Guided Cochlear Implantation. (Mentor is Robert Labadie, MD, PhD)

Young Min Lee, B.S.P.H (class of 2015) for the presentation titled: Recovery from Sports-Related Concussion: Days to Return to Neurocognitive Baseline in Adolescents vs. Young Adults. (Mentor is Gary Solomon, PhD)

Bobak Parang, BA. (MD/PhD student) for the presentation titled: BVES Suppresses Inflammatory Carcinogenesis. (Mentor is Christopher Williams, MD, PhD).
