Patrick Keller

President

Hi there! My name is Patrick, and one of the main reasons I came to Vanderbilt for medical school is because of the unique culture of Wellness that exists here. As cliché this sounds, I try hard to see wellness as a process, not a destination. It takes work, but the payoff is SO worth it! Having come from a small town in Upstate New York with a wooded forest as my backyard, I never turn down the chance to visit one of Tennessee’s many beautiful waterfalls. They remind me to enjoy the small but beautiful things in my life. On Sunday nights, I sometimes stay out late playing my saxophone at the jazz jam sessions at Rudy’s jazz club. I may be tired the next morning, but it’s well worth it for me! I also love to do 30-day challenges, where I pick a habit I want to change (like giving up processed sugar in my diet or journaling for 30 minutes three times a week), find an “accountability buddy” to do it with, and then do it for 30 days! It’s my way of promoting positive habits in my life.
