Shaunak Amin

Community and Safety Chair

Hey everyone, I’m Shaunak! I grew up in a small town in upstate New York before heading to the South for undergrad at Duke and eventually to Nashville for medical school. Vanderbilt’s embodiment of wellness was extremely important to me when choosing a medical school and I could not be happier with the culture that we have fostered here. I define wellness in medical school as the personal and professional pursuits that allow for one to thrive in one of the most demanding and rigorous times of their lives. For me this includes finding new places to eat, playing pickup ultimate or basketball on Sundays with my classmates, grilling by the pool with friends, volunteering around Nashville, and taking full advantage of the pass-fail system. I am very excited to be part of the wellness leadership team this year and look forward to extending wellness throughout the Vanderbilt and Nashville community.
