INSTRUCTIONS FOR VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY BASIC SCIENCE RESEARCH LABORATORIES:

Continue to work through the BRET office and use the following instructions:

Short-term observational and research experiences are a part of the education and training mission of Vanderbilt University. Each year our faculty members sponsor observational and intern experiences for students visiting from local, national and international universities as well as high school students who are considering a career in biomedical research.

These opportunities are intended to provide a clearly defined educational training experience.

The laboratory must be in full compliance with all applicable Vanderbilt safety programs and regulations. Minors can be Observers only and must be directly supervised by the faculty sponsor or designated supervisor at all times while in the laboratory.  Please see Guidelines for Minors in Vanderbilt University Laboratories.

Visiting student observers and research interns gain an opportunity for a mentored research experience while immersed in a laboratory environment at a research institution that conducts research of the highest quality with worldwide impact.
