Welcome to VAMOS, a Vanderbilt Medical School student organization which seeks to connected interested VMS students with campus and community opportunities for Spanish-language instruction, immersion, and service.  VAMOS represents VMS's first fully-integrated language program designed with the medical student in mind.  We encourage students from all backgrounds, with or without experience in Spanish, to participate in the myriad of opportunities that we have available during all four year of the medical school experience.  So read on, and Vamos!

VAMOS Core Components

Academics:  Through the support of the Dean of Students and the Spanish department, VMS currently offers three elective medical Spanish courses, catering to all language levels from the true beginner to conversational speakers.

Service:  VAMOS encourages students to engage in various Spanish-speaking communities in Nashville through a wide variety of service opportunities.

Immersion:  Immersion in Spanish-speaking environments, whether in Nashville or abroad, is an invaluable part of the VAMOS experience.  We aim to help connect students with local immersion opportunities as well as coordinate opportunities for research and rotations abroad.
