Seeing musicians lost to overdose and suicide hits particularly hard. On my and Caitlin\u2019s third date, we were commiserating over our similar experiences with the poor state of mental health and substance use treatment in the area. Over the next year and a half, we started sketching out some numbers, and the idea of working at a nonprofit that served the community I lived in started to make more and more sense.
