By stimulating scientific interactions, we strive to broadly propel and elevate the generation of new knowledge related to tissue and organ development with strong emphasis on the cellular and genetic mechanisms that regulate cell fate specification, plasticity and maintenance.<\/p>\r\n<!-- rich-text -->\r\n<h2>VCSCB shared resources provide novel technologies to Vanderbilt faculty:<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><details>\r\n<summary>Creative Data Solutions<\/summary>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cds.vanderbilt.edu\/\">Creative Data Solutions<\/a>\u00a0 (CDS) is a Vanderbilt University shared resource specializing in bioinformatics and informatics\u00a0research support. CDS blends scientific expertise with cutting-edge technical capabilities to accelerate both basic and clinical research. From data management to processing and analysis, CDS helps investigators transform complex datasets into meaningful insights.<\/p>\r\n<\/details><\/li>\r\n<li><details>\r\n<summary>Vanderbilt Genome Editing Resource<\/summary>\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/medschool.vanderbilt.edu\/vger\/\">Vanderbilt Genome Editing Resource<\/a> (VGER) is a leading center for genetic engineering and stem\u2011cell<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-dev.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-main\/medschool-dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2026\/02\/VGER-Medium-Transparent-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/> innovation\u00a0at\u00a0Vanderbilt University, backed by more than 30 years of expertise. VGER delivers advanced genome\u2011editing services for both mouse models and human iPSC systems, including CRISPR\/Cas9 engineering, cryopreservation, and rederivation. The resource has supported hundreds of investigators, generating thousands of engineered models and cryopreserving more than 1,000 unique strains that fuel cutting\u2011edge biomedical research. With expanding capabilities in pluripotent stem cell engineering, VGER provides expert guidance for creating custom iPSC models that enable next\u2011generation disease modeling and regenerative medicine studies. Its mission is to accelerate discovery by empowering researchers with high\u2011quality, genetically engineered models.<\/p>\r\n<\/details><\/li>\r\n<li><details>\r\n<summary>Vanderbilt Cryopreserved Mouse Repository<\/summary>\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/medschool.vanderbilt.edu\/vcmr\/\">Vanderbilt Cryopreserved Mouse Repository<\/a> (VCMR) provides a centralized, efficient platform for archivin<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-dev.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-main\/medschool-dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2026\/02\/VCMR-Logo-600-px-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>g and distributing genetically engineered mouse strains developed by Vanderbilt investigators. Operated by the\u00a0Vanderbilt Genome Editing Resource (VGER), the repository leverages expert capabilities in cryopreservation, embryo thawing and transfer, and in vitro fertilization to ensure high\u2011quality model recovery. VCMR streamlines access by managing MTAs and shipping in\u2011house, reducing administrative burden and accelerating model distribution.
