Congratulations CBT–VICB Collaborative Project Awardees!

Congratulations to Matthew Fisher (St. Jude CBT, Shelat/Tinkle Lab), Katherine Young (VICB, Wilson Lab), and Neil Chada (VICB, Wilson Lab), recipients of the inaugural CBT–VICB Collaborative Project Award for their project, “Albumin-Hitchhiking Nanobody–STING Agonist Conjugates for Diffuse Midline Glioma.”

Unlike traditional research funding, these awards empower trainees to initiate, design, and lead their own cross-institutional research collaborations between the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology (VICB) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Department of Chemical Biology & Therapeutics (CBT). By providing funding, core facility access, travel support, and shared research resources, the program gives trainees the opportunity to transform their own ideas into high-impact interdisciplinary projects while building lasting scientific partnerships.

We also congratulate our outstanding finalists: Alexander Hondros (VICB, Kojetin Lab) & Scarlett Nguyen (St. Jude CBT, Blair Lab), and José A. Reyes Franceschi (St. Jude CBT, Ansari Lab) & Gigi Hunn (VICB, Niswender Lab). Join us in celebrating all of these exceptional trainees!
