Areas of Interest: Cancer Biology, Natural Products, Synthetic & Medicinal Chemistry, High Throughput Screening
We are a synthetic organic chemistry group focused on tackling long-standing synthetic challenges and discovering empowering transition-metal-catalyzed coupling protocols to expand chemical space that can be accessed from abundant precursors.
Central to our research interests is the desire to develop new carbon–carbon bond forming reactions to rapidly synthesize biologically active small molecules. We are particularly interested in designing innovative strategies to access molecules with potent anticancer and neurological activities. Utilizing state-of-the-art resources available at Vanderbilt, including the High-Throughput Screening (HTS) facility, we will rapidly interrogate the biological activity of the molecules we synthesize.
Researchers in the group will gain expertise in asymmetric catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and multi-step synthesis.
