I am Chen Zhang, originally from China. I earned Bachelor of Medicine in Preventive Medicine from Tongji Medical University in China and Master of Public Health in Social Behavioral Health from Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Being involved in the behavioral health field for a few years, I gradually realized I have been constrained by not having advanced training in both theories and research methodology. The Epidemiology Program at Vanderbilt University can fulfill my desire and will help me to become a capable researcher who is not only able to understand determinants embedding within the community, but also translate knowledge and research findings into effective, large-scale and sustainable actions in the real world.
In my spare time, I like swimming, dancing Zumba and do various exercises. I enjoy so much the life style in Nashville and appreciate the wonderful opportunity provided by Vanderbilt/VISP.
