Pedro Garcia

Hi, I am Pedro M. Garcia Barrantes. I am from Costa Rica. I received a Pharm. D. degree and a M. Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Costa Rica. I entered Vanderbilt through the Quantitative and Chemical Biology (QCB) Admissions program and I am interested in Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery and Design.

After my arrival in the US, it has surprised me how nice people from Nashville are; even strangers stop to say hi. Also, the university facilities are outstanding with beautiful surroundings and lots of nature. I look forward to improving my skills in laboratory practice, making new friends and embracing the experience of graduate school at Vanderbilt and Nashville.  At the end of my QCB year, I entered the lab of Dr. Craig Lindsley and the Chemical and Physical Biology graduate program.
