Sheridan Carrington

Hi, My name is Sheridan, and I am from the Caribbean island of Barbados in the West Indies. I attended the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Jamaica, where I attained my Bachelor of Basic Medical Science Degree in Pharmacology. I enjoy reading, cycling and the outdoors, with a favorite pastime being boating and rafting.
I first learnt of the Vanderbilt International Scholar Program as a summer intern while participating in VISP's international summer research academy, VISRA. The exceptional guidance and exposure to advanced research that I received throughout this program led me to seek entrance into the VISP program to pursue my PhD studies.

I wish to perform research in the area of drug discovery and drug target development, and from the various poster sessions and departmental seminars thus far, I believe Vanderbilt was the best choice for training in this area.
