VPIL Students Win Outstanding Poster Award

April 20, 2013

VPIL second-year medical students Gretchen Edwards, Cristina Farkas, Richard Latuska and Clinton Morgan and faculty member Heather Davidson, Ph.D. presented a poster at the Southern Group on Educational Affairs/Southern Group on Student Affairs (regional group of the Association of American Medical Colleges) meeting in April 2013 in Savannah, GA. Their poster, The Evolution of Clinical Skills Demonstrated by Interprofessional Health Care Student-Teams Compared to Medical Student-Only Teams in Standardized Patient Encounters, was peer evaluated as part of the Medical Education Scholarship Award (MESA) program during the conference and was very highly rated both for the group's presentation skills as well as for the content and design of the poster, and was ultimately recognized with the 2013 Outstanding Poster Award for a Trainee.
