Join us for a Webinar on Caregiving for Postdocs and Graduate Students!

Posted by on Friday, October 4, 2024 in Announcements .

Join us on October 29th from 12:30-2pm ET, for this important webinar focused on supporting caregivers in academia! Hosted by the National Academies Committee on Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine.

What’s this about?

Caregiving is something we all experience, whether it’s caring for children, aging relatives, or needing care ourselves. Despite its prevalence, caregiving is often stigmatized and undersupported, especially in academia. This can be particularly challenging for graduate students and postdocs who face significant obstacles in accessing and advocating for their needs.

This webinar builds on the National Academies’ recent report on Supporting Family Caregivers in STEMM. We’ll explore the caregiving experiences of post-doctoral scholars and graduate students and discuss what institutions can do better to support these vital members of our academic community.

Why should you attend?

  • Learn about the unique challenges faced by caregivers in academia.
  • Hear from experts on what systemic changes are needed.
  • Join the conversation on practical solutions and institutional support.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of a crucial discussion that can make a real difference in our community. Register now!
