Internal Medicine, Cardiology
I am a Nashville native who went to the University of Tennessee for undergraduate and Medical Degrees. I came to Vandy for my Cardiology fellowship training and then went into practice here in town for about ten years, returning to Vanderbilt in 2008. My wife Wendy is a retired pediatrician who now is in the real estate business (want to buy a house?) I have two daughters: Hannah just graduated from Skidmore College and is currently enrolled in the Conservatory program at Second City in Chicago, and Emily is a freshman at Emory. My area of practice is primarily general cardiology and cardiac imaging. Outside of work I enjoy working out, gardening and playing golf, spending time with my Golden Retriever, Olive, and dominating the Cardiology Fellow and Faculty Fantasy Football League.

Prior to his start in medicine, he competed on the University of Georgia men’s tennis team. He was inducted into the Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame in 2011. When he is not serving patients and teaching students, he can almost always be found on the Vanderbilt tennis courts. His favorite tennis opponent is Samantha Gridley (Gabbe ’17).
